Long story short, but after getting a Crosman 140, I've been looking all over my local area for another one (or similar). I was searching local estate sales and saw a 1400 in a photo, and on the second day of the sale I got it for $56. A bit much, but not bad. I drove 60 miles to possibly get it and was satisfied. So problems are the usual bad seals, pump cup is hard as a rock (ordered the Mac 1 kit), and a broken safety. The safety lever is mostly destroyed and made of plastic, while the 140 has a metal one. I will have to fix the 1400 and install the 140 lever as when I install the lever now, the trigger travel seems odd. One disaster at a time though.Has anyone successfully made a replacement out of anything, 3D printed anything, etc? Every place I see has them marked as "out of stock", and the last place I asked for 140 parts sent an odd message about how I have an obsolete air gun and shouldn't expect to find parts for it unless that outfit bought out another outfit that had them in stock. The cheaper the better (I know this is not something many like to see), but man is this thing sucking down the cash. I mostly want a safety lever because my 140 will sometimes discharge while being pumped (I know this is an issue but I never could track it). If I keep the safety on while pumping, it never discharges, so I do that to stop dry-firing. Thanks!
Thanks everyone! I'm going to try the drill bit idea possibly. All are good options. The gun has developed some weird issues so I have to focus on that weirdness.
