Air venturi tank

I have a 90 cu. in. Air Venturi carbon fiber tank that I just had pressure tested and now I'm filling it back up to 4500 psi. I'm using my Bin tac compressor and I let it run for 15 minutes and then I give it a 10 minute break so it's going slow and that's ok because once it's filled I will top it off when it gets down to about 2900 psi. Well I got it to 4500 psi and when I opened the bleed valve it dropped it to 4000 psi. Should I be opening the bleed valve every time I stop it to give it a rest or to I need to fill it to 5000 psi. and then bleed it?

Not sure I completely understand but if I stop my compressors and try to restart without bleeding, they won't start and sometimes even kick a breaker or the reset on the compressor itself.
I don't like doing that at all.
Again, I may be misunderstanding what you are saying.

Honestly, if you are closing the valve to the tank before you vent, then I don't see how the pressure in the tank could drop just from the venting. Is it possible that you did not close it fully before venting? I'm sure it could drop from cooling off, but 500 psi seems excessive . . .

I figured it out, every time I stopped the compressor to give it a rest I should have been bleeding the line. By not doing that when I started the compressor back up it had all that pressure on the line. Every thing is working great now.

Good deal Jim, glad you sorted it.
My process is ...
Stop the compressor... if it's not auto stop.
Close the tank valve.
Bleed the fill line at the compressor.
