Make sure to smooth out the intake air hole.
Hi Frank, Just guessing here but I have had a few SSPs that acted similar... i.e. you have to jack-pump it to get to normal energy levels (your 435 w/ 7.0)My guess is that your piston o-ring is not picking up compression at the beginning of the pump stroke. These guns do not have precise tolerances and the pump tube vs. depth of o-ring groove (in the piston) can vary. Which is why there are different sizes people use.I have some P17s that like a 117 piston o-ring, but most work best with a 116. In all cases, use a 70 duro... the softer, more elastic o-ring is more forgivable in making the seal (esp. at the beginning of the compression).BTW, the breech o-ring is indeed metric but I have found that a 009 works better than the oem. I use cast urethane in 70D for most everything. hth-Wyo
If you disconnect the auto safety, you can hold the trigger in while cocking and it will draw air in from the valve vs the tiny hole at the end of the intake stroke.
Sounds like a cool project, wish I would have bought one of these when they were on sale lol!
