Generally seals are somewhat stiff but not rock hard. The lip should be somewhat flexible when pressed as it must conform to the compression tube and seal air to push and compress as it moves forward through the shot cycle. If there's a piece missing you're definitely in need of a replacement. That has a HUGE effect on power output.[/quote many thanks for your reply its much apreciated. oh yes the standard seal is very very hard and no flex at all so kind of guessed it wouldnt be doing much. thanks again
Without a doubt the Auatralian seals are much better . I have also made my own out of Urethane . Much better than the Gamo seal.the other thing you might look at is the breach seal The factory one is substandard and a home made one is better. Not sure of the model you have but if the pivot pin is a drive pin then replacing with a shoulder bolt improves the rifle immensely.[/quote i allready ordered 2 aussie seals just in case and think i may need to do some deburing as a couple of sharp places where seal enters/exits. ill take a look at breech and pivot pin and many thanks for your reply its very helpfull and much apreciated. model of my gun as written on action states gamo swarm maxim.
