That's a good price but, Midway's packing is as bad as Amazon.
I've even spoke to them on the phone about it they pretty much said that they don't plan to make any changes.
However, they did replace the damaged tins and didn't ask for them back. I had to show pictures.
But, is it all worth the trouble?

I thought they recently revamped their shipping. They called the new shipping system "Nitro Express" or something like that.

I guess I've just always been lucky because I've really never had any problems with their pellet shipping, or any other type of item shipped either.

I can only speak to my personal experience. Admittedly it was a few years ago and it's possible they have upgraded their pellet packing.
Hopefully someone with recent experience will chime in.
I've ordered several other items from Midway, airgun and otherwise related and pellets are they only items I've had issues with.

Field Supply has them for $6.99 per tin with $3.00 shipping cost. Two tins plus shipping is less than Midway's cost and Field Supply does a good job of packaging for shipment.
-
I just looked it up on Field Supply and it said $8.99.

Forget Midway. Awful packing, guaranteed annihilation.
Here's how the clowns sent off my order when I was naïve enough to buy from them:

MidwayUSA has the Baracuda 21s on sale, these aren't the "Baracuda Match." Notice it only has 4 out of 5 bars on the "Precision" scale on the tin lid and just claims 5.5mm. The "Match" are "selected" and claim 5.51mm, so probably more consistent... but worth 66% more? Has anyone done the Pepsi challenge on thee two?
I noticed Apolo is doing the same thing. The "Air Boss" are supposedly the same as the regulars, but "Selected one by one" but are they really better? I did test those (just one 5-shot group each at 50 yards, so hardly conclusive) -- the domes were 0.48" ctc and the Air Boss 0.49"ctc. AA18s were 0.33" as a "control" group.

I ordered two tins of H&N FTT and two cheap scopes from Midway last month. They came tossed in a mailing envelope together with no padding. Everything arrived okay because the pellet tins and the scopes were blister packed. I’ve figured out that ordering pellets in blister packs is the only way to get them from Midway safely.
As far as improvements to Midway’s shipping, I hear they replaced all the trained monkeys in the shipping department with trained chimpanzees. :o
