Title: How much longer....
Post by: Oldgringo on February 06, 2023, 06:56:42 PM
On 1/26/2023, I passed my EKG and was taken off the very expensive Exeralto blood thinner.  Today, I saw the Optometrist and was told that I have 20/20 vision but I do use reading glases for, you guessed it, reading.  Tomorrow, I renew my Driver's License that will be good until my 87th birthday.  I wonder if I'll have to renew it again after tomorrow?

Hey, hopefully as long as it’s all good. I figure every day is a good day. I’ve had my heart restarted more times than I’ve had one of my cars jumped (not an experience I’d recommend fwiw) and I’m older than an male in my father’s side of my family has ever made it. I just kept enjoying life.

Greg, that is what I would call 'GREAT NEWS'.
And about driving after you turn 87, yes you will need a license.  It isn't like a senior citizen and hunting/fishing privileges.
I personally know a lady that lived in my hometown, who drove until she was about 95 years old.  However, she drove only in town.  I had to take her to the big city near by for doctor visits, family gatherings, lunch, and shopping trips.  That lady was my mother.

Sounds like all good news, to me.  Hope you have to renew your driver's license several more times!  As they say, just keep moving.

Count your blessings. Every day you spend on the green side of the grass is a good one.

Oldest on my father's side only made it to 66 and I'm 70 so I've already out lived them. My mom passed at 73 but she had got polio in her 20's.
