Eddie, a most generous offer. Thanks.I sighted-in the rifle this afternoon. It will take a little shooting to loosen up; but is seems to be consistently accurate. I was using the JSB 18.13 gr pellets that the first Stormrider likes soooo much. Time will tell the story about Stormrider #2. Maybe a little afternoon hunt tomorrow is in the works.?.
Thanks, Tom. I will be posting the results later in the evening.
Tuesday afternoon - December 11, 2018 FIRST HUNT WITH THE NEW STORMRIDER .22It certainly felt good to be out in the woods today. Even though there was ice everywhere, the temperature was in the mid-40s. Very comfortable and no wind. The squirrels were very vocal in the trees, and moving around on the ground.I did something that never happened to me before. I shot at the same squirrel three times and hit the twig in front of it every time. And it still didn't move - I just gave up. Later, I wounded a Gray Squirrel and it escaped into a hollow tree. In fact, it was the same hollow tree one escaped into last hunt. (I will have to change areas or kill them with one shot. )The second one I shot was also on the ground and took the hit in the heart/lungs. It ran about ten feet and came to a dead stop. I hunted for almost four hours and had squirrels moving most of the time. The problem was that they were FAR away.[The picture is back at the house because I forgot to bring the camera along on the hunt.]
