Hi All,I recieved the gas rams I had ordered on Ebay about a month ago. I have a question about the end of the rod where the disk is. The two rams I received did not have the disks installed. So I contacted Custom Air Seals and asked which way the disks go on because there is a recess on one side. They said the recess goes towards the ram. So now my question: When I screwed on the disk I barely get one full turn on the rod. Should I be worried that there isn't enough engagement? Should I put threadlocker or spot weld the disk to the piston rod?I just have a feeling the disk will come off the rod from shooting the rifle. Maybe from compressing the rod may screw into the disk more. I don't know. Thanks!Taso
Al,Thank you for the confirmation! Did your disks also have little thread engagement? Thanks,Taso
I haven't read all of this thread for a while so I might have missed something. Seals for the Gamo CF range of guns are too hard. However they do make good material for fashioning a button to go over the delta shaped steel button on the end of the piston. With careful measuring and a bit of trial and error and retrial you can make the Gamo seal into an excellent adaptor so that the CF will take a 25 mm Weihrauch seal. The one that fits the older model HW77. That seal is a vaste improvement over the Gamo original and does not come off. I have two CF guns and never again a Gamo seal.
