In all honesty a slightly larger then 1" group at 40 yards with a gamo springer is pretty dang good. That' huntin' accuracy right there. Impressive.
While I'm a big fan of Tuna triggers, if you have a CAT trigger in your Gamos. Replace the second stage adjusting screw with a slightly longer one. The stock screw is M2.5x8. Replace it with M2.5 x10.It makes a huge difference.
I have done a lot of reading and have concluded that the only rifle (springer) Gamo makes that is spoken of with some degree of respect is the ACCU. A lot of people on the forums will run down Gamo and make a exception for the ACCU.I decided to buy a ACCU 22 in early November. I could not kind one in stock. I pre ordered one at P.A. and they kept pushing back the delivery date until early December when they DISCONTINUED it. I called then and switched my order to the ACCU177. I got the rifle and now (after some effort) have it shoot very well. The reason I bring this up is that even though the ACCU seams to be the only springer Gamo has that gets any respect on the forums; I believe they are DISCONTINUING it. AGD don't even list it anymore and P.A. only lists the 177 (on back-order). From the post above by Novagun it looks like the same story in New Zealand. Now WHY would Gamo discontinue the ACCU (the ONLY Gamo rifle many of us would even consider)? Anyone Know? The Cold Texan
I know this is old but just finished tuning a gamo hornet .177 I bought from Midway for like $50 shipped. Not the prettiest thing but wow it is super accurate with sniper mediums. Very impressed with the accuracy of this thing on a fresh tune and barely any time on it. Wish I bought myself one now
