Merits of a dual sighting system

It’s easy to look at the old Crosman 108s dual sighting system as a gimmick and good marketing. Actually my desire to collect the gun was partially motivated just to have that “novelty” in my collection. I was out today shooting a quick 15 minutes in my backyard cause it was 50 degrees! and snow is on tap for tomorrow. Yikes. Because I had 15 minutes I just shot at my metal squirrel target out 50 ft stuck in the ground all winter. It’s that Walmart target with the 1.5 inch metal target that you can knock through and then reset with a little larger target below. It was starting to get clowdy, the sun was setting, and that orange circle has been hit so many times it doesn’t stand out. My peep was useless not enough light. Went to the open sight and was nailing it continualy. It’s not just a novelty.

They might sound like a lot of work till you realize you only need 3-4 pumps for plinking.
