NUAH Question
Airgunsniper8698:
I came to this forum for scope questions, ended up asking about new BB gun, and then today found this Nothing Under A Hundred group. I currently have shots at the 33-50 yard range, and am kinda intrigued now to just push the limits of my pellet rifle.
I've been reading through the rules and they seem fairly easy, so I am going to print off those targets and practice on my own targets first. So I don't waste the real submission targets. I kinda think it would be cool to just work up past 100yards in 50 yard increments if I can till I am in that elusive 300yard range. I have always loved snipers so I if it's even possible with my rifle, I am going to try and get to 1,000 feet(~333.3 yards).

Excellent goal.... Good luck and I look forward to your submissions.... 8)

Day 1: 100 Yards
This could prove difficult. 75 shots... 25 planned to try and get on paper the other 50 to get dialed into center or there abouts. All 75 shots off paper! I don't have a spoter to help me see the dirt rise, so I don't know if I am hitting low under the target or if I am actually shooting high and hitting behind the target. Will have to try and get my mom or dad to come out and man my spoting scope to help me out. Because towards the end of the 75 shots I was aiming well above the target, matter of fact target was just out of the scope picture.

I don't know what you're shooting, or how you have it set up, but...
Sounds to me like you might be overshooting your target?.... I have shot at 100 yards quite a bit with my Diana 350 N-Tec; and at 9x zoom on my UTG 3-9x40 True Hunter scope; I'm waaay off of having to cut off any part of my target trying to get enough holdover-at 75 it's only around 3-4 mildots....
What is your current zero distance? Might want to try some shots with little to no holdover at 50 yards, to get a better grasp of what's going on-when I started working my way out with my Diana, I was already shooting and zeroed at 30-moved out progressively, 40, 50, 75, then had enough of a grasp of how the drop was accelerating to try 100-if I had too much trouble, then I'd have inched it out in 10 yard increments all the way...
Hope this helps, some details on your setup would be nice;
Jesse

Well I am shooting a Gamo Whisper Fusion Mach 1 with a Barska 3-9x32 scope turned to 9x magnification and originally zeroed at about 50 feet. Not sure where zero is sitting after today, I made some adjustments to it when I was shooting earlier.
I have relatively little issue hitting a target at 100 feet not always dead on target but I hit paper at 100 feet no issues. I really need to invest in a scope with mil dots or something. I'll probably bring the target into 100 feet zero it, then move out in 50 foot increments. I guess that's how I'll have to go. Like what you kinda did just progressively work back, either that or I may go without the scope and use the rifles open sights since it has both windage and elevation adjustments on my rear notch. And since the forward red optic dot is enclosed so I won't have glare on it, say... more bragging rights if I can do it without a scope. Hahah.
