Just learned that some of us may be breaking the law . According to the Brady Bill , anyone ever convicted of a felony or misdemeanor that carries a sentence of 1 yr. Or any domestic violence , cannot possess a b.b. gun . Or mental defect/in patients psyc hospital . How easy is it for them to take away your second amendment rights . So , if your 50 and committed any crime punishable by a year or more in prison while a young man ...oops no b.b.gun for you . Your in violation of federal law . Even if you've been a good boy for the last 30 yrs .

You might link where you got your info from. The Brady Bill pertains to firearms only and background checks. Not sure how that works with states that might classify BB guns as firearms. Since the Brady Bill is federal I don't think a states classification has anything to do with it.

Federal BB Gun Laws
Federal law restricts who can own, possess, or sell a gun. Some of these federal laws extend to BB guns.
If you have been convicted of certain crimes, or fall under any of the special categories or situations listed below, you face potential criminal penalty under the Brady Act. This federal law bars personal and business ownership, use, and possession of a BB gun if you:
1. Were convicted of a crime punishable by being in prison for more than one year;
2. Are a fugitive from justice;
3. Are addicted to, or illegally use, any controlled substance;
4. Have been ruled mental defective by a court, or are committed to a mental institution;
5. Are an illegal alien living in the United States unlawfully;
6. Received a dishonorable discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces;
7. Renounced your U.S. citizenship, if you are a U.S. citizen;
8. Are subject to a court restraining order that involves your "intimate partner", your partner's child, or children; or
9. Were convicted of domestic violence in any court of a misdemeanor.
If you fall into any of the above situations or categories, check with a local attorney about whether you can own, buy, or use a BB gun.

That website is very misleading at best to just plain BS. The Brady Bill only pertains to firearms. Only states that classify airgun's as firearms would there be a problem. I guess those states would run a background check on someone buying a BB gun.

Pretty sure Mass. has the most strict FIREARMS laws in the country.
My cousins-Fall River-told me that there were warning signs on the interstates-near the borders-
saying something to the effect "no handguns allowed"
This is some years ago-15 maybe.

I bring this up because I think it IS political, although you apparently disagree. Discussion of FIREARM laws quickly descend into heated posts that get a thread kicked down to the "Non-Productive Posts" gate.

Sure does, and these kinda replies gets it put there. Almost like some people try their best to insure that it does, even if it is a valid topic. Politics and laws are 2 separate things.
