As we continue our comparison between powder guns and airguns, we change things up.  Today, we’ll look at two guns that can produce similar energy.  Actually, the Western Rattler .30 cal can produce MORE power than my Ruger 10/22 when running heavier slugs and with the power turned up.  Today, we’ll be shooting 44.75 grain pellets at 930ish FPS, so we’ll be hitting about 85ish FPE.  So, it’s not quite the 120+/- that our .22LR produces.  But, that’s the beauty of an airgun like the Western Rattler .30.  Because you can adjust the power, you can dial it in for pellets and plinking or slugs and hunting.  That’s not something you can easily do with a firearm.
