I cleaned the bore of my new 125 camo vortex sniper and pushed a pellet through it with a brass cleaning rod, there was a consistent resistance all the way. Hopefully I will shoot it soon to see how well it groups.

First thing I would check is the breech screw, if ther is any side to side play in the breech it is usually the problem with shot gun patterns I have found. Might not be your problem , but it is a free and easy fix if it is.
as of 10am this morning, i am experiencing extremely high volumes of getting the run-around from hatsanUSA.there telling me that 505-550fps is 20fpe thats within spec and thats the same as the 19.91 grain pellet running 650 fps ?? while the one i have does less than 600fps.then there telling me that the edge is spec at 650fps with 19.91 h&n. hold on now......that still don't explain the scattergun affect with any of the 6 different brands and weight pellets i've tried. with or without scope, a couple different scopes and rings....several different hold types and all the screws are tight......but i know one thats about to come loose
I get ~ 595 with .25 Polymags in mine, though this summer on some hot hot hot days I was running 610 over the Caldwell. As far as trying different pellets- I would have never thought Polymags would be among the most accurate in mine, but I ordered them on a whim. Trying only 6 different pellets thus far and then throwing your hands up and wanting an RMA... I really recommend ordering a Sampler from Straightshooters.
bought this refurb from hatsanusa.it was advertised 650fps, it never got over 580fps with 25.39 jsb'sand i borrowed some h&n 19.91gr from my grandson and it did'nt even break 600fpsnot only that....both pellet weights grouped like birdshot.i cleaned the bore several times and got good velocity, then the dieseling started.smoked like a powder burner and loosing speed the more you shot it.fouling the barrel causing poor accuracy and speed.shot over 100 times with no improvement. talked to a member here about itand they requested me to send it back.so its boxed up and waiting an RMA# from hatsan.i have asked if i can return this and add funds to purchase a closeout underlever in .25. HC150TH 25 (more problems ??)we will see...........
I would avoid the Torpedo 150 TH like the plague! I have one in .25 caliber bought for $159 from Hatsan USA! And it is pure junk! I have rebuilt it Twice, and it has blown both the new Vortek seals, within about 25-40 shots! The barrel seams way out of specs as well! So its a door prop or a club! Not good for anything else! I also have a new Hatsan 125 Magnum, actually out of two one turned out to be a shooter. My dad has it now, and the one I kept is junk! The compression tubes are junk on these guns anymore! What a shame Hatsan was my favorite, but will not buy another one!
When I say throwing your hands up, I mean RE: trying only 6 types of pellets. My 95QE was slower until it broke in, too. FWIW, I don't clean my barrels before pushing a pellet down the bore to see how it fits. I also check the inside of the crown and look at the leade. Then I try a few different pellets and see if anything comes close to grouping... and if so, I'll run a dry patch or two and try a few more shots to see how it shoots. I'm sure you did all the normal checks, but with this being a refurb, it might have snuck by QA checking.I'm sure they'll take care of you.
John- I wasn't saying to dig into it- just saying I was certain you already looked at the leade and crown. I'd be sorely tempted at $54 pricepoint to dig into it and see what I could do, but I can understood sending it back and seeing what Hatsan will do. It should be shooting a cluster at least, if not a solid group.
