Picked up a 100X .22 underlever refurb from Hatsanusa a couple weeks ago. The lever would drop from the latch with almost every shot. I could not hold a group better than 12" at 20 yards. Packed it back up the same day and requested to return it. I would have preferred a refund but Hatsan policy on refurbs is 90 days repair, no refund. It should be arriving again in a few days. I plan on shooting it a lot this week. If the lever drops once, it's going to be a threefurb.
Brought it to a local shoot over the weekend and a few of us put about 80 rounds through it on the practice range using factory sights. Only a few lever drops using 14.66 Hammer pellets. Accuracy seems very acceptable. Brought it home and tried some other pellets with 100% lever drop. The gap at the end of the lever to the retainer is about 1/4" on mine. Another one at the shoot had almost no gap.Went to wipe it down tonight and put it away when I noticed... it is now a 105X! They shipped a different rifle in the same beat up 100X box and I didn't even realize it. I think I'll fix it myself and get a scope mounted.
Spent over three hours with it yesterday checking accuracy at 20 yards.First with a known good scope. Three shot group average at 20 yards was just over an inch with several different pellets. Changing pellets caused a dramatic shift in POI. After sighting in at 20 yards with H&N Excite Hammer 14.66, JSB 15.89 were 12" low and 4" right.Removed the scope from my Silent Cat and mounted to the 105X. Groups were still just over an inch.Removed the scopes and used the factory FO sights. Still just over an inch.If that is all the better this thing is going to shoot, what's the point in having it? Big, heavy and mediocre accuracy. I'm starting to develop feelings for it.... all bad.
Hatsan customer service assured me that my replacement 1000X in .25 shot at 650fps (strangely, exactly what it says on the box) and grouped at 1/4" at 10 yards. My experience with it was that it shot A LOT slower, the scope fell off due to an improperly machined dovetail, and the only way it would group at 1/4 inch was if I shot "one-shot groups!" Otherwise I couldn't keep groups on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper at 20 yards. They still have that gun with no end in sight...hope your experience is better.
