Diamond concrete saw blades make great 177 targets, at least for 20fpe
they seem to be made of a good quality steel.
I get them free from tool rental places
I also use them hinged as deflectors on the back of metal framed paper target stands
recently made this 100yd plinker

Nice repurpose. I'm sure those tensioned blades make a nice tinny gong.

Very good idea. Let everyone know in a while how it is holding up.
Thanks.

Lwnnard, that is a precise cut, did you use a plasma cutter to cut out your target?

Our field target club uses saw blades for our far targets that are not practical to run strings to. They have a large face plate with a hole and the blade hangs on the back. They make an awesome gong sound when hit.

it's funny that someone else just brought this up. Just did this like a day before the OP posted, using a 12" sawblade that was shot on my miter saw. I set it out at 208 yards just to see if I could reliably hit it with my impact. and ring it does when hit. pretty cool.
here is my short video on do it:

they hold up very well, we use them as hinged backers for our 25m targets and they do not buckle
the steel used to make these is certainly better than circular saw blades as I have used those to make 50m plinking targets and they buckle eventually
I used a 4.5" angle grinder with cutting disc to cut the hex center target.

Some 10 inch Festool saw blades have a 5/8 inch, approx 16 mm, arbor hole. The blades are thick, durable and take a beating. There's no diamond knockout so the arbor hole size is what it is, and the blade doesn't deform or split after hard use.
Quite a challenge at 25+ yards to put 10 in a row through the hole with a springer.

Love how you worked the hinges. they got to be right on or they do not flap properly. At out range we have a few with quadrants, plus the center.
Very helpful to see where impact is.
