That Whalen looks pretty cool! The English have a lock on cool when it comes to airguns. No other country came close.

I might try to find what mods were done. The pump arm looks very interesting.

I could kind of see how it could be done. I actually wanted to build something like this but Big Bore Bart did it. I just don't see anything on the picture how you would control the shot count, like a power adjuster. I guess you wouldn't be dumping all the air to get three consecutive shots and you would be pushing 860fps on the one full power shot.
It would make more sense to have these features starting with the 2260 platform and a modified 2100 pump tube, better yet, scavenge the legacy 1000 pump components. So,tear up two guns to make one, including some added parts. :o

Cool stuff. I have a bunch of UK airgun mags from 04-08 from when I was at Uni there. There are a few good vintage AG articles I may post.
When ever I go back and read them there are different articles and ads that catch my eye and interest me. I guess the US equivalent was the older online forums but Photobucket messed them up. Annoys me to no end that there are so many old posts that are now useless bc there are no pictures.

the whaley/marshall 761xl was a bit of a con as they made up the accuracy for the magazine articles of the time and power levels were altered to make it look better
I have one not made from a 140 tube like some but with a brass tube and mine is set to dump all air not conserve it
another issue wasa using the 761 as it has the naff plastic cocking block possibly a 766 or a 2200 would've been better
on mine I made a new cocking block from ally and made a stainless probe and fitted a probe seal into the barrel block

Thanks for sharing that, Ped. Good to know.
I've never favored the use of plastic in areas of wear and you took care of it in an excellent manner.

Very cool! Thanks!
Fitting a Mr. Coffee to my Delorean so I can go back and spend some 2019 $$$.
