There have also been rumors of sightings on Long Island NY which would not surprise me in the least since there is very limited hunting and an abundant food supply in Suffolk county from an out of control white tail deer population. Thirty years ago when I lived in Norwalk CT I was driving a delivery route that went from as far south as Greenwich CT up through Pound Ridge NY and as far north as Danbury CT and down to Bridgeport CT. I saw plenty of wild critters and on several occasions saw coyote long before game and wildlife acknowledged there pretense in CT
Perhaps, skinning it, soaking carcass overnight in a brine with copious amounts of garlic and onion. Then smoke it for about 8 hours low and slow. Then dig a hole in the backyard and bury it.
Here in Michigan our coyote season is all year around, the hides will not be any interest to fur buyers until mid to late October at the earliest. I have killed 53 coyotes since Jan. 1 of this year and since about Feb. I just throw them out of the way and leave them lay, they do not go to waste other animals and eagles and Buzzards will eat them and what they don't eat will make good fertilizer for the ground, nothing go's to waste in nature.
Donkeys will kill coyotes and carry them around in their mouth before making them look like road kill that has had a convoy of 18 wheeler's run over the coyote. They then tear them to shreds.
