I keep reading more and more and it's not helping me. Now I'm thinking about maybe Walther lgu or lgv. What are your thoughts on this compared with any similar HW?
Ok , after after reading all this I hit the “buy” button and bought a HW35e. Looking for an heirloom rifle to pass on to the next generation. This is my first break barrel. Thanks for all the information and advice.Mitch
*cough* HW98 *cough*I held out on a high-end springer until I could afford the best.
Yea Kirk, in all honesty, I am not well versed in the variety offered by Weihrauch Sport. especially in the vintage rifles... but I am learning.
I concur with the above post. I look at the 35e the same as I view non indexing gears on a bicycle or better yet a vintage Harley. Both get the job done , not as fast as newer models , but with class.Mitch

Several things about the HW35 stood out however, the gun was considerably heavier, bulkier and required greater cocking effort.I believe that most of the HW35 "excess cocking effort relative to the velocity" was due to the 30mm receiver ID and the double jointed cocking lever. Since the HW35 experience I've shied away from "double jointed cocking levers" and thumb actuated barrel latches. Here is a pic of the HW35 cocking lever joint and thumb actuated latch. The jointed cocking goes under the stock mounting bracket and then the joint rubs the outside of the receiver when cocking.....
And again, I would prefer each of these rifles in .177 over .22. .22 HW barrels have proven “pellet picky” in my experience preferring the H&N FTT 5.53 head sizes over any other size or even brands.
