Title: Compatto #26 rattus & 27 & 28
Post by: ranchibi on October 22, 2018, 01:34:30 AM
Ding donger went off at 9:10pm tonight...Went to the window and I see it, open the window it bolts. I load a 15.89 pill into the Compatto, place on the tripod. Looking I don’t see anything, I scan the bush behind it and I see movement...there it is...I place the crosshairs on its forehead but, it jumps down onto the wall then the station and begins feasting on the PB giving me ample time to sight in and I place the crosshairs again on its forehead and slowly pull the trigger..crack...the rattus folds up and drops off the platform. Young adult female about 14”, very messy ugh. Boy, I really enjoy the handling, accuracy and power of my Compatto :). I also appreciate these early rattus! At 9:30pm the ding donger goes off again and I get up in time to see it leaving the wall. Then at 10:25pm it returns the ding donger doing its thing! With a 15.89 already in place I open the window, set the Compatto on the y-yoke, place the crosshairs on its forehead and let it fly..thwack...just slumps on the platform. Younger adult female taking a platform nap :). LOL...right before heading off to bed just before 11pm I decided to peer through the binos even with the ding donger still up and lo and behold I see a third rattus scurrying through the bushes branches! I open the window then load a 15.89 and place it on the tripod. Looking through the scope reveals nothing...so, I wait using the scope to gaze the bush then movement..the rattus is moving quickly through the branches then heads toward the wall toward the bait station but on the way down stops. I think it smells the blood of the first one that was a bleeder so I quickly place the crosshairs on its temple and slowly squeeze off a shot...thwack...falls onto the wall. Another young adult female..maybe sisters? Must have moved as the shot got her right through her rib cage another messy one. Wow, the Compatto has had her work cut out for her tonight!

Paulus, thank you my man! I guess I was doing my best trying to copy you (copying being the sincerest form of flattery)! Trifecta club sounds fun :). Yeah, the Compatto doesn’t give any rattus any passes!

3........ in one night........ Whoooo Hooooo....... Good shoot'in there Randall, I'm still trying to get the Rattus in the house, trying to setup a remote control trigger system, I just have to find a strong enough servo that is fairly quiet, but most of my strong servos are metal geared and tend to make more noise than I would like and the other thing is speed, I think I have a digital servo that might do the job..... wish me luck. ;D
