Anyone ever get a cartridge stuck in their gun ?It has happened to me a few times, sometimes I can just dry fire with the gun pointed down and it drops right out.Twice however it's been so stuck that I had to drill it and use a screw to pull it out.Just today I had to use a screw, I tried a magnet but nothing would work.It could be a sign that theres an issue with my gun, but I don't know what that could be.Maybe a burr on the valve retainer where the cartridge seals ?

Could be that the end cap is being cranked on too hard. I've done that before. I also never run the gun down until it's out of gas. I leave just enough in it to dislodge a stuck cart.
I actually drilled a small access hole in the tube near the cart nipple on my Plinkster. If a cart stick I can reach in there with a pick and pry it out... I doubt you want to do that with your vintage 180.

I thought it was general knowledge that old Crosmans pressurize the tube, but maybe not. There is not a face seal to adhere to the cartridge as in 2240 etc. A stuck cartridge could be caused by dirt/debris in the tube, a burr at the recess where the neck locates, maybe a deformed piercing pin? If the cartridge slides freely into the tube when installed, I'd suggest taking it apart to examine.Don R.
Heres the stock inlet for the bolt handle.I almost forgot that I also stuck a small neodymium magnet to the end of the breech plug at some point, it keeps the bolt open for loading.I might have originally stuck it to the back of the bolt, but I guess it was more strongly attracted to the breech plug so that's where it stayed. No need for glue or anything.

Seems like that mostly applied to the ones that were pierced by the end cap. Might be worth a try, though.
Yes, you bought one from me, for the cast trigger, iirc. I don’t remember the other details.
So how many good usable shots does everyone get ?I understand that can be a subjective thing ,for me a good usable shot generally means I can still hit my spinner 15-20yds away without adjusting my aim.

With the volume turned down, I get 60-70 good shots with a dual cart rig, so about half that in a stock configuration gun. The second variant is way more versatile with adjustable/selective power, in addition to the better trigger. Anybody make a muffler for this diameter barrel?
