NOE Cast Pellet Consistency

I weighed some .30 cal. NOE Hunter pellets I cast today, after throwing any with improperly filled out skirts back in the pot.... Here are the results....
The variation, from lightest to heaviest for both the light pellets and the heavy ones, was 0.6 gr (1.2-1.3%), with most of the pellets being within 0.4 gr (0.8-0.9%).... I think that's pretty good, better than a typical tin of swaged pellets.... even the good ones run 2% or more variation within a tin....

That is very good. How many cavities in the mold?

They are 4 cavity moulds, but I was using the deep RG pin in 2 cavities, and the shallow pin in the other two.... So effectively 2 cavities in each sample above....

Bob pretty much all last year I used my cast stuff exclusively (mainly .22 Magnum hunters) for hunting. I can vouch that the accuracy was equal to the consistency of the casting that I was getting with the pellets and the accuracy was remarkable in my opinion. The way that I look at it is why the heck would I want to buy store bought pellets when making them is much better. It's the cat's meow IMO for the people that don't mind casting their own.

Not bad there Mr. bob!
I can tell everyone interested, that once I switched to a W/L barrel with a slower twist, I am extremely pleased with the accuracy. I wold love to hear how they are in the Polly bbl's.
Last week, I shot at 60 yards and very high fps, (1090's) and still, all were touching. At 80 yards, the group was apx I inch. they had no right being that accurate at tht fps.
Now this is with the light 36 gr. Magnum in .25 cal. I understand the .30 is even more accurate. Would love to try the .22's!
