Thanks for answerin me. The question I was asking if I make a hammer valve say 3/4" have the valve screwed into the air resivoir will it expell enough fps to shoot a 30 caliber or 9mm round down range with at least 215ft pounds energy. I'm I asking this right
Would be pushing HARD to get that in .30cal and likely never getting there...so figure .358". Would start with a valve throat at 5/16", valve stem @ 1/8" and thinned down a little where it sits in the valve throat. Transfer port equal to the annular area of the valve (throat area minus valve stem area)I usually make the head of the poppet around .040" larger than the valve throat and have a preference for flat faced valves with the poppet head sealing on an undercut perimeter...think of an old school toilet plunger.Al
Thanks Guys just finding where yall answered. My idea of simple is a rifle that will shoot a 30 caliber bullet or ball for hunting purpose and also plinking.
