I should be able to make it. It will be my first
-
Gene,
what all airguns do yall allow r bigbores permitted
-
How Big?.... :) And maybe depending on if they are quiet.
-
well i have a 308 9mm 457 and 58 they r loud also what all does this event have going on
-
Another issue with the big bores to be considered is the tearing up and destroying of the targets.
CDT
-
How far are you from Mertal Beach?
-
4 hour drive Ron
-
Her ron i live about an hour and 15 min from u in jamestown maybe we can get together and shoot. I live in the middle of the francis marion and the range is 10minrj-porter@hotmail fron the house
-
How bout steel targets?
-
Depending on the big bore, even steel targets get destroyed. We had a couple of Fun Shoots in Charleston and one in Columbia and they had a couple of Big Bores. Did a job on some of them targets. :o ??? :'(
CDT

Ok well what all goes on at these fun shoots it

Ohhhhhh, road trip! :D
Tent event? I snore like a freight train.

I believe Gene has some tent space. First come first served or by reservations.
Check out the pictures from last year.

Count me in.
Last time I left with 3 more guns that I got there with. This year I hope to leave with LESS guns.

Can we get a head count on who is going to attend?
Gene
-
I plan on attending.
Richard
-
Count me down plus one
-
Me & Mrs Ez!!!!
-
My Dad and I will be there.
Andrew
-
Put me down as a tentative yes, with a bunch of antique AG's to unload lol. If I attend, will likely be a weekend event for me.
-
Found something I had forgotten all about. A Chinese made .177 Bull Pup. This will be up grabs at the 2012 GTA Fun Shoot. It is new but no box for it. Don't know anything about it except that it shoots.
Gene
-
And of course I'll be there and tossing in a new QB-78 for one of the raffles or somthin. 8) I'm just about out of guns to give away at these raffles though. ::) Gene and I always give up at least one from each of us at every meet. ;D ;D
CDT
-
I want to be around with plenty of raffle tickest when Bob raffles off his Custom Disco and M-Rod....:) The ones you never see. And he keeps them well hid when I come over to his place.
Gene
-
HeeHee, me too!!!!
I will NOT be exempt from THAT raffle!!!!
Folks, I'll take this opportunity to toss this out. Since Gene & Bob have graciously donated airguns to Fun Shoot raffle, I'll give you at least a partial list of the outstanding goodies that will be available for sale, raffle or as door prizes. I want to thank ALL that have donated and your names will be posted at the Fun Shoot and also in the Donation Gate.
A few of the items will include:
Crosman M4-177
Crosman 2400
.177 & .22 pellets from Crosman
Wire art
X-Rest gun rest
Pyramyd Air gift cards
Wal-Mart gift card
GTA caps
12X18 reflective "Nothing In Here" signs
RedDot Scope
....and several more items that I don't physically have in my possession yet so I'll leave some surprises.
I'll also tell you we are having a silent auction for a very special airgun. It will most definitely be a "1-off" limited edition gun. I don't want to spoil it but bring some cash, you are going to WANT to place a bid on this one. I plan on placing a bid myself. Highest bidder wins. And again, ALL funds raised from raffles will go toward GTA Forum upkeep and to defer any additional expenses from the Fun Shoot.
See all of you there!!!!
-
I will be there. Last year I won a Daisy springer worked over by Gene in the raffle. This year I will put that rifle up for someone else to win in the raffle. Good luck.
-
Yep .... every time Gene comes over, I lock them in a closet and then station Molly in front of the door to guard them... ;D ;D Not really sure how good that works though cuz Gene is her favorite buddy. :o
Looks like we are off to a great start with this years fun shoot and looking forward to seeing everyone that's going to be able to make it and shaking hands with our members.
We have a lot of fun, share all kinds of info and experiences, shooting all types of guns, trading, bartering and selling as well as buying and of course a lot of good eatn' (grinning at Dez) .... and it just keeps getting bigger and better at every shoot. ;) ;) . 18 days and counting. ;) ;)
See ya's soon
Bob.. Gene... Dez.. David and the team.
-
Im gonna be there. God willing. Can i bring my bigbores if i bring my own steel targets to destroy. Also i will let anyone shoot them
-
We have not had big bores at our fun shoots in the past. I would say it is ok if you bring your targets to distroy and not ours.... :)
Gene
-
Cool i will make some targets for all to shoot
-
Ohhhhhh, road trip! :D
Tent event? I snore like a freight train.
i think i hold the title to that one. (snoring) passing police officers stopped to check out the noise :D :D ;D so they told me lol
-
11 days and counting to the 2012 SC Fun Shoot. Make sure you bring a chair to sit on.
Gene
-
Sorry guys i guess i wont be there. I dont have any mufflers for my bigbores
-
How big are your big bores. I live in the city limits and most neighbors in my area have never complained over the years. If your big bores are no louder than and uncorked Condor then bring them and and play. I am also thinking of opening up a 100 yard plus runway that sits off to the righ of our normal shooting lanes for those who whish to shoot 100 plus yards.
Gene
-
Well, I plan on being there. Not sure what I will bring with me, but it will use air and lead. Maybe lots of it.
I have a home made booster pump that runs off of shop air to help when the scuba tanks run low on pressure, if that would be helpful.
Lloyd
-
Depending on how much air id use, refilling my tanks would be of concern.
David
-
That is great news Lloyd about the air booster unit..We will need all the air we can muster..:) I only have two 3000 88 ci tanks that I use and refill off shoebox which takes about 3 to 4 hours to top each one on off.
So if anyone who is bringing a PCP try and bring air and or a pump if ya can.
Gene
-
Gene
they r 2 to 3 times louder
-
Come anyways, we will have lots of guns u can shoot. Plus there will be raffles both days for new air guns and other toys n stuff.
-
Ok we will see i might make make it and bring my mrods
-
I'm gonna try to bring several tanks of air. Some of which will probably be for sale.
Richard
-
I'll be there! Had a blast last year. I'll be solo this year.
Brett
-
Is there gonna be a compressor on site?
-
I will bring an 3500 psi tank (full when it arrives), and all are welcome to use it.
-
LOL RJ, scuba shop 40 miles from here... :) Only compressor is my lil shoebox which takes hours for a few hundred PSI. But most all will share RJ
Gene
-
I'm bringing a 4500psi SCBA and possibly throw in a 2500psi one also. Depends on how much room I have left.
:)
-
I have 2 4500 psi tanks and a 3000 psi tank so i will have air
-
I have two 4500 tanks, not sure if they will be full but last year I almost ran out with just one so I made sure to bulk up this year LOL
-
If I can make it i'll bring my 88 and 66 cubic feet bottles. They can handle a serious amount of fills if I don't drag the corsair.
-
So if you only one "full" day, it sounds like Saturday is "the day" to be there at this PCP extravaganza. Going to be a whole dive shop worth of tanks!
Lloyd
-
Me and the Mr will be there. and put me down for 2 door prizes i picked up a 1322 and a 1377 remans from work to donate. oh yea and make that a 3rd my son is coming also. we will be leaving NY wensday evening for the 14 hour drive. only bad thing s the 14 hour drive home and on my birthday. :-[
-
Started setting up targets today. About 3/4 the way done. Still need to set out paper targets. One side of shooting area is completed. Lots of paint ball targets but you will not be able to see them in pictures unless you use a good scope... :)
Gene
-
Gene,
Looking pretty good down there.
You might have already talked about this but in case you haven't:
I know you said most of the activities will be on Saturday. How does it work on Friday and Sunday, and at what time do you knock off shooting in the evening, etc.
We should bring drinks and snacks and side dishes to share? Cash for the food kitty and raffles? Targets, ammo, stuff to sell or trade?
Thanks!
Lloyd
-
looks good as always Gene. a very target rich environment. you guys always do a great job providing a fun shooting area. ;D ;D
-
Doors will be open on Friday Lloyd. 7:00 am to 9:00 Pm through Sunday. Drinks and food will be available on Friday. Only water, tea or sodas... :) There will be stuff for sale and raffles. Raffle tickets are a dollar. Everyone gets one ticket free for the door prize. All other raffles, tickets will be one dollar each.
Sometimes if the food does not appeal to some then there are places just a mile away to purchase food and other supplies.
Gene
-
More targets this year and deeper in the trees...:) And we are opening up the long lane for 100 plus yard shooting. Sure hope you can make it.
Gene
looks good as always Gene. a very target rich environment. you guys always do a great job providing a fun shooting area. ;D ;D
-
yea me too. i truly look forward to it. i'm working on a plan to maybe come saturday after lunch and have to leave early on sunday to make a wedding. there is always lots and lots of cool guns and really nice people. always a great time. ;D
-
We have some VERY good prizes to raffle and for door prizes too. We will gladly accept any donations folks care to make. Bring what you want as far as for sale or trade. I'm bringing about 14 of my herd but not planning on doing any selling. I am mainly bringing them to shoot and let others see and shoot the ones I've been jabbering about. You never know, I may be doing some trading. But folks are welcome to bring things to sell, trade or donate.
I believe Saturday being the MAIN day, we will be throwing some dogs and burgers on the grille. Feel free to bring sides, condiments, desserts or drinks. I'm sure we can find a use for it. :)
Bring plenty of ammo. Bring your targets if you like. Especially if you have some reactive or resettables. I'm sure there will be room for them.
CAN'T WAIT!!!!
See ya'll there.
-
Should find out today if we can make it. Fingers crossed....
Dave
-
Was going to send a couple for raffle, but didn't get em mailed soon enough. If the raffle won't be held until Saturday, I'll bring em. Still looking uncertain if I can make it. Clients are loading me with work >:(
-
More Pictures of shooting line and targets but not done yet.
Gene
-
Gonna make it for sure now. Woohoo. Looking forward to meeting ya all.
-
That's quite a drive Grumpy and glad to see you are going to make it. Drive safely and give yourself plenty of time.... but ya better hurry.. ;D ;D ;D

What a great time it was seeing new faces as well as old at the fun shoot. We had a great time and the people there were nice folks from around the country, some for the first time others an annual journey to the good times. We had a great target set up thanks to some of the GTA members for their contribution of targets, thanks Artie for bringing those zombie targets and the clay pigeons that was pretty neat! Their was great prizes given away and really good food thanks to Gene and his wife Kathy. I think we had at least 25 people show up oh, and a special thanks to DEZ for supplying all the goodies that came from our supporting sponsors. Thanks for the contribution DEZ we love you buddy! I pray and hope for all the GTA members that appeared at the fun shoot and had a good time and may your journey home be a safe one. God Bless you all and can't wait till next year.
-
A huge THANKYOU to Gene,Kathy and all the members who worked hard to make great funshoot. It was my first and I had a great time what a blast ! Thanks guys for letting me shoot those great guns. It was good to meet you all and Kim from Crosman. Great memories all, can't wait till next year. Stay well God Bless and see you next year. Regards Tom SC

This was my first time attending the Fun Shoot, but it definitely won't be my last! It was so nice to be able to put some faces and handshakes with the GTA names. And folks came from far away, too. In fact, you would have had to cross an ocean to come any farther! I got to see and try guns I had never seen before, and talk shop, too. Laid back, and a lot of fun. Thanks to Gene and Cathy, and Dez and Teresa, Kim from Crosman, and everyone else there, too. I had a wonderful time.
Thanks,
Lloyd
-
Another thank you to everyone who helped put this great shindig together. We had a blast. My boys all ready talking bout next year !
-

I just got back from the airport, and I am home once again. That was an awesome experience! Thanks to Gene and everyone else who helped make this event happen, I haven't had so much fun in years. ;D It was great to meet everyone, and talk face to face, as well as shoot some fine airguns. Once again, thanks to everyone for pitching in to organize such a fun event. :)

Absolutely amazing. A bunch of folks from all walks of life and from various parts of the country, all coming together for a common interest. Playing with BB guns. Awesome! All the cool kids were there. It was a time of reaffirming old friendships and making new ones. It was a time of laughing and eating and sharing and shooting and teaching and learning etc, etc. Everyone had the opportunity to handle and shoot every gun that was there, if they were so inclined. Great fun was had by all. It was an honor and privilege to have been there. For those not in attendance, you missed out. You really need to try harder to make it next year. And guess what; nobody got their eye put out. LOL.
Richard

If you haven't been to one of the SC Fun Shoots then you really are missing out on some really great times! I first want to thank Gene who opened his home to us and for letting me spend my last night in his home so I could have things ready to go early in the morning. His wife Cathy was a most gracious hostess and cooked up some really great eats. Special thanks to Ernie for helping me set up as I was solo this year.
This year had so many great airguns to look at, to hold, to examine and most of all shoot! That has to be what I find best is that people at the shoot are so friendly and gracious about showing and explaining their airguns. You could spend the whole day shooting and not shoot the same gun twice. Folks are quick with a warm smile and a firm handshake. Just is great meeting people like that. I know I will be back next year.
I'm sorry that I haven't mentioned individual names that I wish to thank but I'm just afraid of missing someone as there are so many. You know who you are! ;) Thanks!
Brett

What a great time with great people. The memories i have from this last shoot are some of the best i have ever had. Thank you to everyone who took the time and effort to put this shoot together. It was enjoyable to see everyone who turned out for the shoot and even more fun to see all the smiles. To all my fellow gta friends you are the greatest people and its a honor to be able to share a couple days a year with you all. Here is to next year hoping to meet some more gta members in person and may all you have a wonderful, healthy and happy year to come. mr and lil sis

Hate I missed the Fun Shoot. Sounds like a wonderful time. I was hoping to get some help with my Phantom and make it shoot better. I'm learning a lot from the forum and appreciate all the tips. Thanks
