Missed a few starlings with my Crown

I was not doing so well with my starlings shooting this day with my FX Crown. Nothing wrong with my Crown so only 3 things that I could blame for: bad shooter, wind or pellet.
I missed more than usual but it was still a fun day to be out at the farm shooting my toy.
Enjoy.

Good video!
I've had similar outings, it happens to everyone now and then. The elements can ruin an outing and humble the shooter. I still enjoyed watching and hope to see more to come.

It appears your droppage might be more than you are anticipating. The ground shots at 60 yards seem to be hitting just low while you are centered in the crosshairs but your high elevation shots at 60 yards that are angled upwards seem to be on target when you are centered. IF this is the case then yes it is operator error
, I usually have to hold under for those upward angeled shots and hold over for the shot parallel to the ground.
Setup some paper targets at 60 yards and see where you are sighted in at.

Another great video. We don't always win. From what I could see it looked like most of the misses were slightly left. I think you mentioned there was a strong wind in that direction.

@ER00z. Thank you. In my case in particular, if I do too many rats shooting, my starlings shoot at longer distances generally suffers unless I get more trigger time. Practice more I guess.
@BushWacker. Good observation. Maybe that was why I missed a few of them. I know the wind messed up a bit but at that distance of 60 yards, my gun should be good. It was probably me or just some bad pellets, lol. I have since re zero my Crown just to be on the safe side. Thank you.

When in the field, in order to deal with the frustrating misses in a row, nowadays I bring among the stuff some paper targets and a few pieces of PVC 3/4" tube with about 25" long.
Each tube has a sharp end that goes into the ground and is cut along the upper half length to easily grab the paper. I hammer a pair of tubes into the ground with some piece of wood. Dry/hard soil needs some water..
When I am doing wrong, there is an interval for paper shooting at the distance of interest. At least, I may know if it is occurring an erratic group or a kind of systematic deviation liable to compensate.
Always crossing fingers to don't hit the downwind tube.. LOL

We can all be critical but I only wish I could shoot near as good on your good days...

@customcutter. Thank you for your support. yes the wind generally picks up in the late morning around 10:30am or so. The farm is located near the ocean so wind is unavoidable.
@mpbby. good idea.
@BushWacker. We are all human after all. Some day we just do better. Practice makes perfect and never a bad day to be out shooting my AG.
