Introduction - Steve

Greetings All.... My name is Steven Sachs and I live in Northern IL. I am a just recently retired Probation Officer here in Lake County after 39 years. My specialty was street gangs and authored a book about gang identification. (used copies at Amazon)... Historically, as a young'un from Kalamazoo I shot .22 (powder burner) in Jr. and Sr. High School @ the Southern Michigan Gun Club, Kalamazoo and worked my way up through the NRA qualifications to Expert Class. - After that was college, marriage, career and a child in that order. Never shot an air gun, until about 2 1/2 years ago when............... my Son-in-Law invited me shoot his .308 at a gun range. UH-OH.... He was a bit stunned, when I shot his rifle at 100 yards. He never sighted in his scope, so after 2 shots I kinda walked it down to the bullseye! My son-in-law can't shoot well, and has no patience to learn, (even from an old fart like me).... My daughter put the target in her jewelry box. Boy that got the juices flowing!
My Ex-wife (don't ask :-) and I moved to a house with a pretty good back yard. I was drawn to my first pellet gun, a Crosman F4 which I bought at K-Mart in 2015. Oh my...I was hooked! I built a shooting table, but primarily use a heavy duty camera tri-pod with a V yoke on top. Shooting distance is 45 feet. My guns are CZ 634, Beeman R9, QB 78, heavily modded Crosman 2240, Walther Terrus--------Recently went to darkside with new purchase of M-Rod from Expert HPA, a Benji Disco, TKO modded a FX hand pump, and a used Scuba tank that's getting cleaned and filled as I type this. I still enjoy shooting the break-barrels. The Crosman has about 6,000 pellets through it with the same seals, spring, etc. Same accuracy as the Beeman R-9. That's pretty much it in a nut shell. I look forward to adding my thought to this forum and to learn so much from you folks. I was tired of being a GUEST and lurking.... It was time to join the fun! Best... ...Steven Sachs

Thanks for all the replies guys! Wayne, if you happen to read this, I went to Loy Norrix HS, class of 1971. I have a sister in Kazoo and would love to get back to Southern Michigan Gun Club and see their new Airgun range!
