Umarex Legends Cowboy Rifle

I got quite a shock today when my Umarex Legends Cowboy rifle arrived by UPS. Take a look at the outer and inner cartons. UPS had to see this but left no note with the package. Thank goodness the rifle was not damaged.
Now for the rifle: It is beautiful. The stock is not wood but has the finish and feel of wood, a lot like the Nagant 1944's stock. Not quite as heavy as the Walther but feels good and shoulders well. The action feels a little rough and I hope it smooths up with use. The cartridges cycle well and it came with 10 BB type. I also order extra SAA pellet cartridges which PA indicated in a video review that should work also. I see absolutely no difference in the shells other than the BB ones are brass and the pellet are silver. Both load at the base. I had pre-ordered it back in June '18 along with PAs 4for3 Smart Shot BBs.
The three guns in the photo are top to bottom: Walther, Umarex, Marlin .357.

It's no fun being a bad influence if you can't share it with someone. I do what I can.

Good looking rifle. The damage to the box is probably the worse I 've seen. It's amazing the gun was not damaged. Have fun shooting it!

Thanks, Harry. Going to put it through its paces today with different BBs & pellets.

Here are the results of the straight-outta-the-box test shoot. Mighty impressive. 9 yards from sitting position. During the velocity shots I was hitting soda cans at 16 yds from an unsupported standing position. All the BBs & pellets were seated with the tip of a pen in their shell casings. Not sure it makes a big difference with this gun but helps greatly in other rotary/belt fed mags.
My go-to Daisy flat nose pellets had a couple fly-aways but that could have been the loose nut behind the trigger, too.
The shells ejected well and didn't go too far, but I laid down a blanket just in case to keep them out of the sand. NOTE: the inside edge around the loading port is very sharp. Be careful sticking your thumb in when loading the bullets. I had the same issue with my Marlin .357 and had to break the edges a bit and may do the same with this gun.
I'm a happy camper.

Jump on it, Ralph, while they are in stock. I preordered back in June and got it after Christmas. It's loads of fun and so realistic. The stocks aren't wood but a real nice polymer. It handles BBs and pellets with little difference in accuracy. I use Black Diamond and Smart Shot BBs. The BDs push out well over 600+ fps while the SS are in the high 500 fps but hit a little lower on the target. The cartridges feed very smoothly but the action seemed a little rough at first. I think it is smoothing out after several hundred rounds now. Oh, and get lots of extra cartridges. If you have the Colt Peacemaker, they use the same cartridges.
BTW: I was using Crosman CO2 and had difficulty piercing the second cartridge. Currently have 2 Umarex in it to see if that makes a difference. Will have to update you on the results.
