CP, That's darned good considering the weather conditions !!!!And also considering altitude differances, your within a couple of fps of where Jeff (LongIslandHunter) and I were with our XL1100's and Predators when we first tested them. Sad to say, but I don't think we'll see any 30 fpe rams for these.Since then, mine's dropped off about 70 fps. I'm hoping that the new ram, that I just got from Crosman, will bring it back close to what it was. But then .... the gun is still shooting very well. Got three lined-up house sparrows off the feeder with one Predator two days ago, and yesterday, it dropped a Starling straight down off the suet feeder - DOA ! The family of Crows that lives behind my place could care less if the ram's pressure is off a bit - they are being well fed !!!!! And my shoulder muscles aren't complaining about the drop in speed either ! Paul.
Alex,It's one of the early ones - got it end of February. Yes, I'm not happy that it's dropped in speed rather than increased as the new seal wears. I was hoping it would be like my Whisper, which increased speeds about the same amount as it's new seal wore in.The good news is that the Trail is now easier to cock, just as accurate, and the extream fps spread with Predators has tightened up to less than half what it had been, which was good to begin with. I've got the replacement Crosman ram here, and Gene's GRS ram centering kit, but I'm hesitant to open it up while it's shooting this good. The gun still has plenty of power for small game. I guess next time I see that it's shooting low, I'll know the ram has lost even more pressure, then I'll tear into it again.Paul.
My Trail/Summit just gets smoother, sweeter and quieter with every shot. 18.1 JSB at 725 fps works good for me.
