If it lost 8 fps per inch removed, did that indicate less time that the pellet had to build air pressure behind it while in the barrel? Evidenced by increasingly louder report? Very interesting data.End result looks nice. Is that a camo wrap or dip on the stock?

One really can do an excellent job with simple tools and methods. Now you'll have to grab a cheap rifle and chop it to destruction - like one of those $35 Gamos that Midway was selling. Or pick up a $25 replacement barrel from Crosman and chop it an inch at a time down to about 6".
I'm thinking at 6 inches you would really have to strain to get it cocked. That just might take all the fun out of shooting it
