Yes all the time. Every time I hear one. Don't bother with jet airliners The noise of a 185 Cessna is unique especially on take off and a Tiger Moth . In my younger days I flew as a tow pilot for a glider club We had a Piper cub 150 hp it could pull 2 gliders at once . A really Good way of turning a very nice plane into a rattled heap
There is a bloke down the road whom I visit every Friday afternoon He makes wooden propellers for planes and exports them . He is at present making one for a Fokker Triplane they are works of art Too good to put on a plane and crash through a fence we get on well and he knows I am criticizing his work trying to find a blemish but I don't think I ever will They are perfect .

Lol yessss lol. I don’t care about little planes, I like massive planes. I have an app that says what’s flying over. I’ve started to tell the difference between a southwest 737 and a 777 (we’re close to LAX) sometimes I hear things and don’t see it on the app I look up it’s a military plane. Sometimes I am near Edwards Airforce Base and see some sweet planes.

Helicopters get my attention. We only have the hospital ones around here from time to time, but when a big military one goes over it's awesome, and has my attention.

Always.
When I was a kid my and my dad would always go out side with bino's and look at any airplanes we saw.
For some reason we used to see planes all the time.

Cherry Point Marine Air Base is across the river from us. Fighter jets are always flying low here. Occasionally we'll see an AWACS or C130. We even see VTOLS, those prop planes with the rotating engines for vertical take offs. Helicopters seem to only fly at night here. We rarely see commercial airlines, and if we do, they are too high to identify.

I grew up near Airforce bases in Florida during the cold war. We had sunburned tonsils from staring up all the time. I still look up when I hear a big Wright or Pratt & Whitney going over.

Frank Sikes Airport is literally in our back yard. Fort Rucker also uses it for helicopter training. If I looked up everytime I hear a plane, ultralight or helicopter I would always be looking up. It's constant. We got used to it after awhile and hardly pay attention to it now. The ultralights are interesting because they go so slow it seems like the would fall out of the sky.

I grew up 4 miles from NAS Oceana, and have lived in the shadow of some major airports since (SFO, ORF, now RIC) while also living pretty much next door to regional airports (New Kent County right now, a couple years ago Chesterfield Regional)...
I still look up. I'm not into looking at civilian planes, but warbirds, especially older/vintage/antiques- oh yeah.
People talk about "the sound of freedom" but my home in Virginia Beach had structural damage in the form of rattled-loose window panes and very long cracks in the plaster from the FA-18 Superhornet noise. No problems beforehand, even when Tomcats were scraping the floor. The "clicker" was never far away while attempting to watch any show. The period of time right after 9-11 was especially noisy.

Navy A6 training and other low altitude training used to happen just down the canyon/river from us... then tapered off after a crash in 1991...
https://archive.seattletimes.com/archive/?date=19911010&slug=1310144
up the Canyon a bit is Chelan Falls/Butte which has a popular hang-gliding spot...
Our local airport is named after Clyde Pangborn... problem is his nickname was Clyde upside down Pangborn..
He crash landed the Miss Veedol here after the first nonstop crossing of the pacific... every once in a while, I get to hear the sound of a replica of the Miss Veedol flying overhead...
https://www.pbs.org/video/ksps-documentaries-upside-down-pangborn-first-across-the-pacific/
got to see a F/A 18 and FB-5 being restored next to each other... think it was 2014 or so...
here is a 2017 picture aviation day at the airport...
https://www.flywenatchee.com/wp-content/uploads/aviation-day.jpg
so yep cannot help looking up to see what is flying over... had a squad of Air Tractors, a Huey and c130 flying over my house fighting a fire just up Squilchuck Canyon a few years ago...
had to look it up to make sure of the year but 2018 it was a Old DC-3 and p51 that flew over...
https://kpq.com/1944-vintage-dc-3-arrives-in-wenatchee-for-aviation-days-at-pangborn-airport/
point is for a small town you never know what is going to be flying over...

The Naval Station I mentioned is only 1/2 decommissioned, several admin buildings and they still maintain the airfield as its both a shared jet port and military field…..apparently there are still some maintenance and refueling facilities…so we still get the occasional fighters and helicopter squadrons, flyover depending on approach…I will not lookup for jetliners but we all know the difference and when/what to rubber neck…lol
There is a road that runs behind the airfield with enough room to pull over and watch….on one MC ride had the privilege of watching couple of A-10 Warthogs leaving …gentleman parked next to me said flights over night here (millington) on their way someplace else….

I live on the edge a military reservation/state forest here in Florida. The Airforce and Army and Navy aviation do a lot of EW/ECM training in this area. Mainly at night but it can be active here in daylight too. I sat under a tree a couple of years ago while hunting and watched a pair of A-10's tail chasing at low altitude. We hear the V22's and Chinooks going over at night quite often. It's not like living in the middle of Eglin like we did when I was a kid but it's still pretty cool for an aviation buff.

I never minded the Phantoms, Tomcats, and other assorted alphabet planes until the Super-Hornets. Weather in and around Hampton Roads shifted a smidge, patterns changed, the population grew, and the decibel levels grew. Even then, while I minded it, it was a price worth paying.
Thus why my retirement involves quiet land in the middle of nowhere, not under any normal flight paths, with mainly owls and the occasional song-dog at night.
I still love looking overhead and seeing older warbirds, though. My ex's uncle is/was a mover and shaker in WWII restorations (based out of AZ) and knowing his handiwork and resources helped preserve history is satisfying.
