I would just go with the Huma and be done with it.
The easiest option is to buy an Altaros regulator from Wes or PA. I have one in my Bandit and one in my 'Rider. Even at "high power" tune I'm getting 12 consistent shots per fill at 27 FPE. The Bandit gets 18+ shots with a 100b reg setting and light spring before falling off the reg. You should be able to get 40+ shots at the same reg setting, maybe even more, with the Stormrider tube.

Mine is a Gen2 so the gauge is on the end of the tube. I should mention that I don't own a single pcp with a regulator so this is all new territory for me.

What is done to close up the hole on the bottom of the tube where a pressure gauge would normally be? I have no idea what the inside of the G2 guns with no bottom gauge is like. I assume the valve is the same, but I'm very curious about the bottom tube hole. My ONLY experience with regulated guns is with the PR900 and PP800. My only other PCP's are an Eagle Claw and AEA .45 Challenger 'pup.

I didn't cut my spring, but yes, I heard it helps.I like the way my reg one shoots, so, I'm leaving it alone.

I might be able asking to much from a regulator due to my inexperience.
I looked back over my notes and realized I'd never run the numbers with lighter pellets. I went out and chronographed a string with 7.4s. I'm getting between 19 and 20 fpe over 15 shots with a 20 fps spread from a 3000 psi fill. Velocities peak a little over 1100 fps to get those numbers. The Stormrider is my first .177 pcp since I sold my AA s200 10 years ago, and it looks like I need to readjust my expectations a little. Maybe 14 to15 fpe would be more reasonable for a decent shot count.

In fact, if you also get a hammer spring from a Chaser/Airbug, you can set that reg to 100b and get a ton of shots around 12-15 FPE. The bolt pull will be super easy and smooth compared to the stiff factory spring. The whole thing will just become super air efficient and near silent.
Hey Ed you can use one for a Discovery, bet treiners outdoor has them.
