The name of thread matter sounds a little bit pretentiously:) but I cannot give other definition - it is magnificent pistol.

Kin to many PCP pistols, than nice compact air cylinder once capped each end sure don't hold much air.
Looks like .45acp / 1911 grip pattern which would allow many custom grip options ... tho guessing.

Supposedly, Pyramid Air will be carrying these.  They will have optional  longer barrels , longer air cyls, different grips.. Fill to 3000 psi.

With the angle on that grip I'd be shooting the sky.

That's a target pistol rake for one-handed shooting.  I've been doing a bit of 10m Olympic pistol shooting lately and really getting to like it.

Being from russia, probably (hopefully) a 4500 fill. Can't wait to see the specs on this. Love the .45 grips, just hope it ain't too front heavy.
&^^&, one more to add to the list.....  :-\

Not my flavor I like a pellet pistol to look like a pellet pistol not a take on a combat/defense weapon...

The MRODair pistol has a better looking grip, but is single shot. I think the Russian pistol has a lot more power, but can't remember where I seen that. Is this Russian pistol made by Ataman?

From the brief and rather lame video clip, yeah, it's being shown by Ataman. And doing a bit of searching I find them listed at the very bottom of the Ataman site's 'air rifle' page:
http://ataman-guns.com/product/5 (http://ataman-guns.com/product/5)
Shown in four versions - long and short barrelled versions, each with grip panels or a moulded grip, so really two pistols, two grips. The long-barrelled .22" version shows a maximum export model energy of 18.44fpe! Yikes! With 20 shots per fill... at that power level? Wow. Looks like they're all in .22", and the short-barrelled ones deliver a maximum of 14.75fpe for 15 shots. Impressive. Bet they'd give something over 50 shots per fill if dialed back to Canadian sub-500fps limits. Make a heck of a fun plinker. No use for formal target shooting though as that's .177" only.

Looks nice but I would not go as fart to say it is more the most beautiful pistol.

I like  styer LP 10 and  LP 50 better or Anschutz or Feinwerkbau

As far as design, Russian tend to make everything square and somewhat utilitarian. They do it from cars to Airguns. That is why I have never been to fun of russian air guns. They just don't have sexy lines. Just compare the lines of the russian pistol next to the styer lp 50, you will see what I'm talking about. Look at the proportions....

But as we all know, what we like or not is very subjective. Because one design might be better than the one does not mean that people will like one over the other.

I saw that at the Pyramyd booth at the Shot Show. Very nice looking.  Pyramyd is one of the most enjoyable, nicest companies with which I have had the pleasure to deal. They are genuine people. Should be a good match.

I started getting back into shooting 45ACP 1911. This might be a good filler in between the range.
Title: Mrodair pistol PP700W
Post by: Tackleberry on January 30, 2016, 10:06:55 AM

I ordered mine a week ago. The pistol is 319.00, it's 368.00 with the red dot. That includes shipping.  How can you go wrong. The U.K. Websites and a Dutch site have some great reviews, exploded diagrams, disassembled instructions, and mods for the PP700W.  From all of the reading I have done so far, the only down side is the trigger. It is a little gritty, but to break it down and polish it appears to be very easy.
I will post pictures and chrony details in another as soon as I get it.

The MRODair pistol looks like a nice design, but every time I look at the grip I think somebody bolted on a chunk of wood and didn't finish the work....

I like the looks of the russian pistol, it would make an interesting sidearm for plinking and pesting.  But I don't think I'm ready to drop 8 C-notes on one.

Tried to find the pistols on PA and Air Venturi websites, but they don't seem to be listed yet. Did notice something interesting, though.
Air Venturi is listing Ataman at approximately $250 cheaper than PA. I thought both companies were in the same stable. Is there something I'm not catching on to? PA shows the lined out (msrp?) price and the sell price. Air Venturi just shows the msrp. There is a pretty significant difference there.

The grip angle is a little funky, otherwise she looks like a winner.

I'm watching this one and the Mrodair pistol, if the right one comes to market, I'm interested.

What 18 Foot pounds? Heck, it did just get better looking. That would kill a tree squirrel. Pack that on your side for the close shots.  ;D

Hey, with an LW barrel there's no reason to stick to the close shots, at least if you're any good with open sights or have a decent red dot on there. My Atomic pistol has a 6.5" LW barrel in .22" and I've taken greys out to 35 metres with that, scoped though at 4x. Quite the technical specifications on this puppy. And for all those saying nay on the grip angle... obviously you've never shot ISSF-style 10 metre AP. I see that grip rake and I say 'oh baby, come to papa.' Be able to score 530 or better with that right out of the box... if it were in .177" anyway and thus legal. But seriously, that rake gets your wrist into a perfect angle for locking up, really great for nailing tight groups on a non-recoiling pistol.

The grip angle is match pistol.  Lots of you conventional shooters and plinkers won't like it.  I absolutely LOVE my Pardini K10 .177 Match pistol.  The angle I find is just right for one-handed shooting!  On my Wednesday night shooting league I am limited to .177 and under 500fps because of Canadian laws.  Optimal speed for most .177 Match pistols is right around 550-650 fps.  I have gotten over 150 shots per cylinder charged to 225 BAR.

Think I will be buying the Mrodair Max Precision Pistol as soon as I sell some Crosman 22XX parts of!  If it shoots as well as my CP-1M I will be very pleased.  I have the grip all carved down on the CP-1M, just need to stain and seal it.

The Mrodair Airmax Precision Match PCP pistol is actually one of the more impressive airguns I've shot. Going to try this week to see how much power I can get out of it, but take a look at this review for some shot strings I was able to get out of it with only adjusting the hammer spring preload and the transfer port: http://www.airgunsarp.com/2016/01/28/best-bang-for-your-pcp-pistol-buck-reviewing-the-mrodair-airmax-precision-match-pcp-pistol/ (http://www.airgunsarp.com/2016/01/28/best-bang-for-your-pcp-pistol-buck-reviewing-the-mrodair-airmax-precision-match-pcp-pistol/)

The Ataman Pistol is pretty amazing. Very smooth sidelever, and it has an option for a longer barrel. With the long barrel, it is supposed to produce 20fpe. Add to that the fact that it is rated (at this time) at a 300bar fill, and it should have a decent shot count. From what I was told at SHOT, the price on it is probably going to be $1000+ rather than the $800 someone quoted, but you don't know till they get more release info. It did for certain handle much more like a 1911 than the Mrodair Airmax Precision Match PCP Pistol, but considering you can probably get three for the price of the Ataman, some differences are to be expected :)

Nice review on the Mrodair but no mention of the trigger. Does it have a "Target" trigger?  Weight? Single or two stage? Adjustable?

The trigger does seem to be a 2 stage adjustable trigger. I'll measure the out of the box trigger pull this week.

Not a fan of the angle of the grips. Other than that I like it.

Looks very similar to the grip angle on the Ruger MK II.
