I personally think your slug is not big enough to be engraved by the grooves. You to expand the slug. Tap it lightly with a small hammer to get it a few thousands larger

Borescope the throat.Had multiple Avengers, still have a .22 and .25. They all have that ring near the muzzle. It's a rather abrupt start of the choke. Where they do vary is at the throat. The throats on these things are rough (reamer chatter marks), and on top of that, the throat lengths vary by a lot.
I'm still going to lap this barrel.
One should also be careful not to keep fire lapping until the gloss level is impressive. Rather lap until it shoots well, then accept the gloss level. Else, you may need .219" slugs...
