I need a Johnny Quest song.....

...'cause I've got the old air rifle trigger blues.
This is a sad but true story. I bought a gorgeous old HW35, that has been babied and pampered, and kept in perfect condition. Apparently, the post office ignored the FRAGILE stickers plastered all over the shipping box, because when I picked it up, and went excitedly home to open it, like a child on Christmas, the trigger blade was broken.
What to do, what to do???
I got linked up with a guy in Cali who makes triggers for these guns, and was so excited, because I got an excellent deal (imo), and he said he would install it for no extra charge. So off to the post office I go, and shipped my new baby out to the land of sunshine and happy people. The gun arrived in two days to Cali, and the guy did the install, and sent it back. I picked my new baby up this afternoon, bubbly with anticipation that I would finally get to shoot her. I put the action in the stock, and took her out to the bench, regardless of gale force winds, to give her a try.
Gun won't cock. Yes guys, the gun won't cock.
I fiddle-farted around with it, thinking there must be some super top secret that I just hadn't caught onto yet. I still haven't figured out that secret, and I'm not a trigger type of gal. In fact, triggers scare the crapola out of me. I'm afraid to do anything for fear of screwing it up beyond repair. The old trigger had a large rear adjustment screw. This one does not, but I found that it appears to have a recessed screw that can be adjusted with an allen wrench, and thank God, the guy sent an allen wrench with it- otherwise, I probably wouldn't have figured that much out.
So, here's a pic of the trigger, and I hoping you guys can let me in to the super top secret trigger guide club.

Give a holler on the Vintage. They live and breath those things.
About broken triggers. Guys say "You should break a gun down so that the stock doesn't get damaged in shipping. That's the
right way
to do it!" But then they forget about the trigger which is now bare and unprotected. More guns have been ruined this way. If you ship a gun in two pieces, you HAVE to put some kind of secure padding, etc, around that trigger.
Liz, I hope they can get you straightened out so you can enjoy that jewel.

Thanks Red- I should have thought of that.
I'll do just that.
