What an awesome thread... thanks for the link. As I said, I have an unmolested 57 in the original case .177. I'm thinking it's molesting time.. I work in the auto stamping industry and happen to have a gas spring or two laying around that were salvaged from an older model die. These gas rams are used in various sizes for "lifters" to raise the parts back up after being stamped so pneumatic "fingers" can grab the part and transfer it to the next stage in the stamping process.Thanks for reviving this information.
Yep... that's the one I was referring to. I bookmarked it and it will be valuable when I dig into the 57.
