Shoe Box compressor

I'm thinking of getting one of these to pump up my Marauder. I have a hand pump but no large tanks. It would be nice to have a carbon fiber tank but I'm not sure I could get it reliably filled. I have a large air compressor already too. Can anybody give me a reason why I shouldn't buy a ShoeBox compressor?

I would not fill my gun directly from a shoebox......main reason is the time it would take. Get a shoebox...then fill any tank you want...then you fill your gun from the tank

I recently bought the deluxe 4500 PSI Shoebox compressor and a Guppy tank. I refill the tank maybe once a week and it takes about 45 mins to go from 3000 to 4500 PSI. I'm really happy with.
I read that having the tank between the compressor and gun is also good because it's another place to trap moisture. Also based on reading somewhere I have a particle trap at the shop compressor followed by 50 feet of yellow plastic air line (it's supposed to cool the air) and a desiccant filter on the shoebox end.
My experience also mirror the advice I was given that once you have a Shoebox, you need to buy more ammo. I do shoot more now that I don't have to pump.

Bergy,
They have a new model shoebox that has a built in fan on it. It is just a little higher but really helps the O rings and cylinders. Also make sure the your regular compressor is oiless. In an month or so SB is comeing out with a twice thspeed on fill and almost twice the price. I love mine and I added a fan my self. Good luck.

I have a Shoebox and Guppy setup myself and it has been one of the best things I've done. Mine was ordered with the hardened pistons and the belt drive upgrade. I removed the front cover and use an external fan for cooling and as of yet no problems. Since I didn't have access to 4500 psi air fills in the area it was either this or use a 6k nitrogen tank for fills.

I have a 97 CF carbon fiber tank and a 4500 psi Shoebox compressor. I find it much more enjoyable to be able to fill my air guns in just a few seconds off the tank, as opposed to pumping my hand pump for many minutes each time I need to recharge a gun. It takes a few hours to refill the tank from 3000 psi back to 4500 psi, using the Shoebox. If you can afford the set up, it's the way to go if you like to shoot a lot.

When I first got my shoe box I filled directly to my rifles. I t did not take very long either. Maybe as long as filling with a pump. You need to stand by and watch the pressure so you can manually shut the shoe box off so you don't overfill your rifle. I have one of the first 100 built and it has to be one of the best things I have added to this hobby. Mine has over 100 hours on it now with one rebuild.

I have #147, it did have a problem initially but Tom goes out of his way to fix issues. An external HS fan or their new installed fan is the way to go for oring life.

My goal is to pair a SB up with a Guppy tank! So I can expect to fork out roughly $1200! But a SB is probably the best thing to come for the airgunner with PCP's for sure. A full size shop high pressure compressor will run a consumer new roughly $3500!

I just got the confirmation that they shipped my 4500 Shoebox compressor. I better like it. I decided to buy one because I was getting tired of driving to our local fire dept to get my scba tank filled. Plus I can use it for my business, which makes it a tax write off.

Recived the Shoe Box Compressor. Filled my tank from 3000psi to 4500 in 3 hours. I was easy to use. You should get one.

If you got a kit you have to use the white ones for inside the cylinders and the black one out side. If you dont have a kit email tom and he will tell you.
