Look how the stock looks oversized in the receiver. I don't think it's original wood. I might be wrong but mine fits much better than that. The forearm looks to be reshaped as well.
Weren’t most of the early 101s furniture finished in oil & not a lacquer base?
Are you sure about that Steve? My 101 definately has the original metal finish & I can still see factory sanding marks underneath the woods finish.

what makes the early 101s superior to ones made in later years?
I still think it may be original, the paint matches the type one I purchased along with the shape of the forearm and finish on the walnut stock. also look that the trigger pivot pin has no paint, who would bother to remove it to paint and then reinstall it ? and the barrel looks blued with no evidence of paint over spray ?
