Will do. Yeah, posted in two spots, but they did have to do with antiques, so what the heck, you know? I was excited to find gold in my own backyard, so to say. What it was doing there, well, idk? A miracle of some sort, since I had been wishing I'd have bought the .22 version of the Winchester. I have no other explanation...seriously. But, why ask why?! Anyway, I got out a small screwdriver & depressed that lil pin-like recessed rod behind the bolt. It is indeed the safety, & the trigger spring released just fine. And in front of the little recess for the safety pin/rod I found the letters, " J S"? But no " crack" of any sort of gas pressure was heard? Would it be OK to remove the cap & take out the old Co2 cartridges, or no??**4:18PM- After Roadworthy was very gracious to msg me all day about this great old gun, And it's possible build date, etc, I called Crosman @ 1-800-724-7486. The fella said that with no barrel band & stamped steel trigger guard, it's from 1955-1956 build! CHA-CHING! The numbers around the back of the bolt tube, " 101710" were not used for dating, but warranty purposes only before 1975. So the fella said the only thing he could go buy -from the blue book no less-was the build description. No barrel band, stamped steel trigger guard, no peep sights, he reiterated '55-'56. Sheez...this thang is at least as old as I am! So, I guess, since miracles do happen, I'll definitely give her a facelift, at the least. Oiled stock & new bluing, seal kit is like 39 bucks. Might still have some gun oil & linseed oil in the garage. Just get some steel wool & dig out the Never-Dull...
