My move to the darkside
«

As some are aware, recent health problems mean that for me to continue shooting anytime in the near future, I will need to move to the darkside
So after much consideration, I am strongly leaning to going CO2/HPA dual route.
I am considering getting a fully tricked out AR2079A from Archer Arms with the XP Tune, HDD, Oversize bolt handle, and a 88g Airsource adapter. This setup will give me a fully functional CO2 setup that I have never seen a bad word written about. I will top it with a Leapers SWAT 8-32 scope with 100 mm side-wheel.
For the PCP part, I plan to pick up a couple 13 cu. in. 3000psi input / 1000 psi Regulated Output HPA tanks from JDS Airman and a SCUBA tank for filling.
I find this approach very intriguing and look forward to yall's comments.

Unless you are fully decided already, you should also check out the RWS/Hammerli 850. It has a cult following of its own, and the one I shot was impressive to say the least.
Crazyhorse1 (Rich) is the authority on this model, if you look through some of his posts. I am not advocating one over the other, just saying it's worthy of consideration.

I gave the 850 a lot of consideration. And will give it some more.

Pushed the button on a fully upgraded ^&$@_=s AR2079A. I'll be running it using Airsource 88 gr tanks and am topping it with a BSA Stealth Tactical 4-16x44AO. I'll be picking up a couple regulated HPA tanks from JDS Air Man, and am on the Shoebox Compressor list.
What will be killer is that I am likely at least a month away from being able to shoot. But staring at my new gun will serve to motivate me even a little harder through my physical therapy. Once my therapy is over, I will consider an additional PCP purchase, Marauder, and likely sell off my springers. But that will need to wait. For now my goal is to get to shooting off the bench with help from my wife as soon as possible.

Congrats on the 2079, thats a sweet looking shooter and will be nice and light, easy to shoot. Glad to hear your feeling better and getting ready to get back in the swing of things

Saw the Dr. today and he approved some very aggressive therapy for the right shoulder and expects it to be back to 100% in 8 weeks or less. The news is not so good for the left shoulder and it will take much longer and will likely never be 100%. Looks like I'm a full-fledged darksider now.

Wish you the best on your recovery. We'd rather have you on more positive terms, but welcome none the less, no turning back now....it's addictive.

Good luck with rehab and the new gun. I know quite a bit about shoulder rehab. I have had to go through it once and my mom has had 8 or 9 shoulder surgeries so she has been in and out of physical therapy for quite some time now. As a tennis player I have a few issue that I have had to overcome with my shoulders. Trust me, as long as you do the work in and out of rehab you will get better in no time. If you half ^&* it and don't take it serious you will at least double your recovery time. Good luck
