I am in no way anti-gun, however we held off purchasing any toy guns for my son when he was born. There were plenty of other toys for him to play with. when he started chewing his bologna into the shape of a gun it made me laugh and I decided he could have squirt guns and the normal childhood toy guns
I grew up with guns in all shapes, sizes and types with no harm to myself or anyone else.
Tripod mounted machine gun ... I have a working drawing of one of those in a post WW 2 copy of the Deltgram. For those who don't know the Deltagram was an American woodworkers magazine. Probably not printed any more but I inherited a collection of them.

If we don't take the time to teach our children they will learn from someone else. They are eventually going to grow up to be their own person. We can give guidance and instill common sense. I don't think it's a good idea to demand a child to act a certain way. I think it better to teach them that there are consequences, good and bad, for all of our actions.
