Has anyone converted the double tube Recluse to a .257? How involved o it? Maybe just a barrel swap?

Haven’t done one yet but should only be the barrel with some prep work . Make sure to get a barrel with correct OD so it can be turned down to fit the breech block.

If you don’t mind single loading it should be a great platform. They also come up for sale for pretty good prices . I would go with the Sumatra 2500 myself in 500cc , as I’m not a big fan of the single loading . Either way , 257 is by far my favorite caliber and for the most part the TJ barrels will shoot pellets too.

Ive been considering that as well, although I may go with a .308 conversion, if I do it with this one (especially if my Sumatra can do the .257). In speaking with Will Piatt last couple of weeks about this, he said he has done a successful conversion to .257, although I dont have any details. He did mention having to work with internals including hammer weight in balancing the porting to get a string.

If you were to do the .308 conversion, what ammo would you use? Hmmmmm......

I would plan on a TJ barrel, as Will said that would work. I think/hope my NOE mold RN and HP drops around 115/110gr if I recall would work

I would be hoping for high 800s, 900+ would be better but I dont want to mess too much as I would like to keep it able to change back easily enough.
