I have put .257 in the mag, so I know it fits but they were 60gr. My .224 55gr are exactly .6 and fit lengthwise. Ive actually considered sizing down and using in existing barrel to test out some power settings.
Any ideas what the barrel slugs out at ? Wonder if you could size down a .260” bullet to fit . I think the factory twist rate in 25 cal is 1:18”
These kind of threads should be banned. I just came back from the garage where I measured that a 225420 bullet can be made to fit in a AR6 magazine/drum. Just as if I didn't have enough projects I'm now wondering how a .224 AR6 bottle conversion would work ...
RKR , My K550 / AR6 Bottle gun is shooting some decent groups with the 225-39 FN , it’s a close copy of the 225420. Can you get the bottle parts ?

Can you get the bottle parts ? Nope, can't get bottle parts and I don't have a lathe to make a drop block. I was thinking of a regulated paintball bottle connected to the fillprobe in AR6 pistol action where the airtube would be the plenum. No time to build one now but should make an interesting project. I got 960 fps with 24" barrel and 48 grainers in my BSA so a 15" barrel and 44 grainers from 225438 mold should be in the high 800 fps range making for a nice compact hunting gun.

Whatcha workin on?
It's been awhile since this was looked at...so I thought I'd bring it up and see if anyone's made some progress. The fact that I just got a .25 500cc Sumatra also kinda helps. I'm curious to try this .257 stuff.
140FPE? Is the Sumatra 500cc platform capable of that with those mods? No way I'd trust myself to do that kinda work. I wonder if Mr. Piatt would be amenable to taking on the task.
