Both still work very well, but the casing is a bit cracked up on them. The only problem that wasn't my fault was the tripod itself breaking on one of them. The tripods are flimsy, but I don't really need the tripod anyway. All in all these things are great for the money - they almost never fail to register a shot.May I ask why you bought the tripod model instead of the clamp-on model? I am just curious? Thanks!

It did take 6 shots to kill it though.
I also like to test at longer distances sometimes to see how much energy is retained by different pellets.
The last post was deleted gentlemen. I think you all know why. David
I bought the tripod model because it was easier to use imo.

I bought the clamp on model for $22 and I am VERY happy with it.It is accurate and simple after printing Doug's instructions in English. It works every time both inside and outside.I like it better for airguns than my Caldwell and my Pro Chrono Pal.My Caldwell gives inconsistent velocities. My Pro Chrono Pal does not have a light kit so I can only use it outside. To download the directions in English:See Reply #55 for the tripod model.See Reply #78 for the clamp-on modelThank you LoneWolf54 (Doug) for translating the directions to English!
For those that want a strip conversion table from 70 to 410 MPS-->230-1345 FPS to print I made this MS Word Doc to print a narrow MPS to FPS conversion strip and taped it to the top. Here is a pic and the MS Doc!

Not saying that accidents don't happen just that with caution and paying attention should be fine to use the tripod model without shooting it in my opinion.
For those looking for the English translation of the manual, I thought it might be a good idea to re-post a link to Lonewolf54/Doug's post with the links:https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=151661.msg155693037#msg155693037Thanks again Lonewolf54/Doug for making this available!Kerry
