I rolled the dice on this today, for $10 delivered I'll take the gamble.

I've bought from this source before with no issues re shipping or product quality. I don't expect Zeiss quality, but it does have a tripod capability and with a 60mm objective it should be reasonable bright.

This looks to be a handy 40x monocular, and its tripod compatibility should be a real plus for the range.

Very true, that's why I confirmed the 1/4X20 tripod capability before deciding to order. I intend to place it on a table-top tripod on my shooting bench.

Well, you're in luck.
You have to apply the (Chinese) conversion factor. "Well, what is that factor?", you ask.
It's ... "whatever we think we can get away with"

Reviews of other/similar ones say more like 6x-8x. As for the objective lens size spec, "60", check the attached image (straight from this item's product page).
But wait, there's more ...
With the "night vision", you can even see the other side of the moon. How does they do it? ;D

Yep, Chinese Math...fitting a 60mm lens in a 55mm tube.....Magic! ::)
I guess I got burned....I didn't get the tripod & phone adaptor and had to spend $0.54 USD for shipping!! :'(

Well, the way I see it is I *might* get a usable, compact bench spotting scope, if not I'll have a $10 paperweight. Heck, I can spend more than that on beer at the VFW every evening...... ;D

And that 55mm is O.D.; pure wizardry.
I think I've figured out the Chinese Math ... it does take a little effort ... you have to squint!! ;D ;D . Uh-oh!! I have to send myself down to the principal's office!

The video review (on the one I linked/bought) said the adaptor was flimsy; and didn't say much good about the tripod either, but I've been using that same tripod (I think) on my target light (see attached) and it works great. The flashlight is 7 oz, but this monoc is 12 oz. ... we'll see. Reviewer (who sounded competent) estimated the magnification at 10x max.
