I'm just breaking in a brand new Daisy 753S. (Maybe 100 pellets so far) When I cleaned the barrel I noticed a restriction about six inches from the muzzle, does that sound normal for a LW barrel? Was thinking of shooting a few pellets with some paste on them, don't want to do anything drastic to the barrel. My groups are not as great as I would hope, but also trying different pellets and assume groups will tighten up with time? I have some five shot one hole groups from 30 feet but also get flyers when shooting from a rest, don't think the flyers are me.
A lot of LW barrels are choked, but I thought the narrowing occurred to/at the muzzle.
I’m incline to think fire lapping will not target ONLY the tight spot six inches from the muzzle. If your 753 can be exchanged / returned I would try that first. Given the quantity of LW barrels produced, stands to reason a bad one might get out.
Good advise, to clean the barrel, atleast pull a patch, even with a new barrel. 👍
