Was hoping that those with expirence with the DIANA 54 Air King (and newer Pro) rifles in .177 caliber would give their expirence. Any pellet weight range recommendations would be appreciated also.
Chris, I think you mixed up light for tight.
Hector, The gun is a newer one, a laminated Diana 54 Air King Pro .177. Haven't received yet but should be here soon. Thanks for giving weight range for pellets. I will give it a go with open sights at first. My 54 Pro in .22 weighs 12-13 pounds with the optics and bipod mounted, hoping to keep weight down on this one.
Dave, thank you for the data. I have seen some variances in velocity between guns, but that's expected. Just ballpark figures are plenty good enough for me at the moment. Take it easy.
I know the head size on FTT with head size stated as 4.50 mm has an actual head size of 4.53 mm and the Hunter has a actual head size of 4.52mm. That was this spring from the particular lots I received. Dt, I thought I was being exhaustive testing about a dozen pellets from my gun, you've put me to shame. And love the spreadsheet approach.
I notice if I varied the pressure to shoulder or grip in general it would "split" my groups.
