Instead of a shooting table a good folding table like from Walmart. I turn the table at an angle so I have somewhere to put my firing elbow. I shoot left hand so the front right corner forward. A right hand shooter would want the front left corner forward.
Scope levels are well worth the money and set up time. Especially if you don’t shoot as much as you should to stay comfortable in your stance with your system. And if you’re like me and are shooting down the bank of a lake so can’t use anything as horizon for level.

You could drive a stake and use a plumb line to insure it's vertical to have as a reference.
I've tried a paint roller a friend made. Not that good to me. A Caldwell Tac Driver or a bipod on a springer seems to be contrary to artillery hold. They both hold the gun instead of letting do as it wants which is the purpose of the artillery hold.
