trying to remember what it was ???

Back in the 70's I had a break barrel .177 rifle ,the stock was plastic and that is about all I can remember of that rifle .It could not have been very expensive and most likely was a U.S. company offering. This was a youth size.
I have tried and tried to find a picture of one like it ,for old times sake I guess.Anyone with any suggestions on where to look or remember such a beast.

Could it have been a Marksman? There's one with a photo I provided in the vintage photo thread.
From what I gather, these were sold in some of the hardware and auto parts stores, and were pretty affordable guns.

I thought it was and tried to find info on Marksman, but nothing break barrel but pistols are all I found made by Diana if I remember right. It was a model name not brand name So I kept looking and my wife thought I was going to lose my mind.
If it was put together I would know for sure ,but that could be it.I most likely bought it from the Fleet & Farm store in Plymouth,Wisconsin.
Thanks for giving me hope.lol What vintage photo thread?

Here's a thread about it from a few weeks ago (it's a model 740):

ebay has a vintage advertisement-1987 vintage Daisy,Marksman Air Rifles Ad Pg~1980's- for sale and the Marksman rifle looks like the one I had.Says Marksman Air Rifle Dart Set in the ad description.
I do believe it is the same as your rifle lizzie

Very cool
It's really quite a neat old gun. Not really like a breakbarrel, and not like a pneumatic pump, as we know them now.

Do you have a link to the ad? I'd love to see it.

Actually it says single pump, guess that is why I couldn't find any info on it before.

Thanks for the link. It does say 425 fps, I don't see the exact model named, but it is either the same as the 740, or maybe the next model made, if any others in that era were. It's a pretty cool old ad, and brings back memories of my childhood, lol.
