Discovery pump count going up...

Stock Discovery, after 24 shots, pumping from 1000psi to 2000psi.
I swear that it used to take 37 pumps to refill. The last two days it has taken me 60 pumps.
I don't see anything wrong with the pump. It is not leaking that I can tell. The bleed screw is tight and I didn't crank it down to damage the needle valve.
From reviews I heard it was supposed to be about 1.5 pumps per shot. But from searching, I read posts where 60 pumps was the norm to go from 1000 to 2000. Which is normal? Was my pump working crazy efficient when new or something?

My Marauder takes about that to get from 1k to 2k, usually closer to 70. Hope this helps, I think your pump is fine.

Disco should take less pumping than an Mauder as the reservoir is smaller

It seems that mine has done the same thing. Mine is about a month and a half old.

I counted pumps the last time I used it and 60 is about right. Unless both our pumps are on the fritz.

I just filled mine and it took about 65 strokes to get from 900 psi to 2000psi.

Mine is about a week old. Weird. I think I'll email Crosman and ask them why it pumps so well when new.

Just bought one and it was about 35 pumps to go from 1,000-2,000.

when new everything is still breaking in and wearing into each other.
kind of like rc batteries, when ran fresh off the charger they make a good amount more power for the first few minutes or so untill they reach their nominal charge where battery output levels out for awhile before the charge starts dropping off.

mine normally takes about 50-60 as well. HOWEVER I will note that if I drop below 1000psi and try filling up to 2000psi it is a huge difference in the amount of pumps.
For example,
From say 800-2000 will take me around 90-100 pumps
From 900-2000 it will take me around 70-80 pumps
and from 1100-2000 it will only take me around 30 pumps
So from what I have learned the amount of pumps increases exponentially as you get below 1100 psi. So on that note I try to refill at around 1100, unless I am on fire!

Usually takes 40 for me. Are you applying silicone grease or oil regularly?
Forgot to ask, do you pause at the top, seems for me that it puts more air into the tank when I do. Also if you are not seating the pump all the way down then you are missing the highest pressure the pump can generate.

When I first got my Disco, 60 pumps was my "standard". Now, it seems closer to 45, but I'm shooting more in the sweet spot, less than 2000 psi and down to 1100 or so.
As others have said, shooting down just a few psi lower than you did previously or topping off at a slightly higher pressure can add considerably to your pump count. Try to make careful observation of beginning/ending pressures, and see if you don't get more consistent results.
Perhaps your gun has just settled in, shooting faster and using more air/shot then when new.

From no pressure to 2000 was about 100 strokes the first time I filled. Haven't done that again
