Just got one on the way and will test it out good, anyone else have one yet? Optics planet was 189.00 shipped for the 3x9x40 efr(AO).
My guess is that this is a test market. All Nikon scopes are supposedly airgun rated, according to the manufacturer, but none specifically say "airgun rated". Leupold did a test with their EFR 3-9x33. I think both are looking at the fact that there are a lot of airguns and a bunch of shooters uneasy with the investment in their line without specifically addressing airguns. Having one "airgun rated" scope will give them an idea who is going to gravitate to it and what kind of market share they are looking at. It also helps that Leupold didn't give up on theirs. I have one of the Leupolds and I think it is a nice scope. There are other scopes that compete with it in the price range, but then there is the factor of their pretty handsome guarantee and "made in USA"...That the market is getting recognized by these companies is a good thing. Don't forget Sightron! it is my favorite of the three.Richard
you can get an oversized monster with all the bells and whistles for less. I can't help but think I paid 50 bucks for the scope and 140 for the name.
Are Sightron scopes airgun rated?
